Pride Cymru has signed up to work with Armasec Security for the third time for its 2019 Big Weekend to be held on 23 to 25 August in Cardiff.
Attracting more than 50,000 attendees, Pride Cymru originally chose Armasec over other security firms for a number of reasons. Operations Director Scott Davies explains.
“Pride Cymru is all about equality and diversity and this has to be at the core of the contractors we work with too. The security industry has for many years been seen as not the friendliest. Tom is working hard to change this perception and educates his team on, not just LGBT+, but all equality issues.
“To have a security team who truly understands the needs of our community and the people who attend our event is paramount and Tom and the team at Armasec go above and beyond to ensure this is at the forefront of what they do.”
Scott was the key decision maker three years ago when he first chose Armasec for their event security. “On first meeting Tom, I could see the passion and will to strive for improving the poor perception of the security industry. We’ve used larger firms in the past, but it was clear that he wanted to be different to everyone else. I believe that organisations don’t work for Pride, they work with us to make Pride the success that it is.
“Tom leads from the front. He’s always out on the ground with his team and not hidden away in a control room. He takes the time to meet with me and other stakeholders on a regular basis ensuring that the security and crowd management is weaved into everything that we do.
And Scott’s advice to other festival organisers looking for a security company?
“I’d recommend any festival look to Armasec. If you’re looking for a truly unique and personal customer experience, then Tom and his team at Armasec are the right choice.”
